IF YOU REPRINT US, DO WE NOT READ? IF YOU REDRAW US, SHOULD WE NOT REVENGE?

ITEM! You may have read some of the raucous rumblings regarding Marvel’s recent re-rendering of classic Kirby, Ditko, Colan and other Silver Age art for their various Marvel Masterworks reprints. If not, go see this studious summation over at 20th Century Danny Boy. What does any of that have to do with the price of trees in China? Well, we’re not quite ready to tell yah yet, Tiger! But your Uncle Stanley will tantalize and tease you with the logo for the next peerless pronouncement to grace this blog just about any day now. A specially-framed Forbush-approved No-Prize to the first clever commenter who correctly conjectures just what this creative caption shown below might conceal...

Please tell me that "THE MAN" has issued an edict proclaiming that all future reprints lacking high quality source material will be reprinted from digitally enhanced photographic copies of the original first printings. Pat Ford

I'll take "Things that are, in all but name, FRAUD," for 50 points please Stan.

Your Uncle Stanley only wishes he still had the creative clout to issue editorial edicts to his alma mater like that, Pat! Sadly, no one at Marvel Management takes my calls these days without a lawyer letter attached. Still... if they're gonna hire artists to redraw some of those classic Lee-Kirby and Lee-Ditko issues, why can't they... whoops! I almost let the cat outta the gag! More on the mysterious Marvel ReMasterworks as it develops... Keep guessing, pilgrims! There's a glitzy and glamorous No-Prize waiting in the wings for the first correct guesstimate!
